Winter is over and the weather is getting colder and colder. In the previous stage of field investigation and management of chicken farms, it was found that many farmers and large-scale chicken farms had ventilation problems: early use of small fan, chickens were in good condition, basically no respiratory diseases, but when small fan turned into large fan, respiratory symptoms came up.

The main reasons for this phenomenon are: small windows and ventilation ducts are used at the same time, resulting in confusion of air flow in the house, cold wind falling on the chickens, unreasonable ventilation makes the humidity in the house smaller, the sensory temperature of the chickens lower, and the chickens are always in a state of cold stress.

We recommend the following improvement measures for the farming customers: keeping the humidity in the house (more than 50%) and blocking the ventilation pipe when opening the small window so that only the wind enters the small window; when opening the large fan, first use the curtain to block half, transit for 1-2 days, and then drop the curtain according to the situation of the chicken flock. At the same time, the display temperature was increased by 1-1.5 degrees Celsius (the sensory temperature was added to the fan), and then gradually cooled according to the situation of the chickens. Step by step cooling, step by step fan! After a period of adjustment, the respiratory tract problems of chickens have been significantly improved, and feed intake has returned to normal.

Those things that are ventilated

(1) The importance of ventilation

In the process of breeding chickens and raising commercial chickens, the ventilation of chicken house is often neglected, especially in winter and summer, the ventilation of chicken house is more important. Ventilation can not only take away excess heat of chicken house, increase fresh air of chicken house, exclude carbon dioxide, ammonia, water vapor and dust, but also improve chicken resistance and reduce chicken diseases, especially conditional pathogenic bacteria diseases such as respiratory tract and Escherichia coli.

(2) Air requirements for chicken houses

Pay attention to the impact of CO2

The level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere around us is 400 ppm, and in chicken houses, even if the temperature is very suitable, if the ventilation is not enough, the concentration of carbon dioxide can easily exceed 7000 ppm. The ideal concentration of carbon dioxide should be controlled below 3000ppm (0.3%).

(3) Harm of poor tightness of chicken house

Low inlet air velocity due to insufficient negative pressure

Failure to achieve automatic control

Local low temperature at air leakage

Causing respiratory diseases in chickens

High heat loss in winter and high power consumption in summer

The Primary Conditions for Effective Ventilation of Chicken House-Sealing

Wind without holes, chicken house is not tightly sealed, leakage of outdoor air into the chicken house we can not control, very easy to endanger the health of chickens. The usual term "thieves" is the least popular among chickens.

Enclosed chicken house to achieve forced negative pressure ventilation is to let fresh air all from our automatic control of the wind door or water curtain hole (summer air inlet window) into the chicken house, acting on the living space of chickens.

(4) Ventilation mode

Recommendations:

Keep in mind that chickens should not be cold! If the chickens can not bear (such as chicken feathers not yet full period) when the longitudinal ventilation will lead to chickens cold, directly affect the growth of chickens, feed-meat ratio, survival rate, overall health.

(5) Principles to be followed in ventilation

Keep minimum ventilation during cold season

According to the length of the chicken house, the fan should have enough opening time to ensure uniform ventilation and ventilation.

Key Control Points of Card Ventilation: Adopting step-by-step ventilation mode, formulating ventilation procedures in winter and spring, opening a second fan when 60% of a fan is turned on, correct use of longitudinal fan and safety transition

Recommendations:

When the ventilation in winter and spring can make use of the heat of the chicken flock to meet the minimum ventilation rate, there is no need to increase the ventilation rate with additional heating, so that the risk of ventilation in winter can be minimized. Continuous ventilation is not recommended in cold season when small ventilation windows are used.
